The check that saves you weeks

From Chapter 4. Run it before you commit to any price or deadline.

  • Specs are clear, specific and technically achievable
  • Quantities and units are confirmed and consistent
  • Deadline checked against real lead time: production + shipping + customs + buffer

From the field

Early in my career I processed a PO whose deadline looked normal on paper. Nobody checked whether production, shipping and customs could fit inside it. They couldn't. We found out three weeks in, and it cost the company a penalty clause. I never skipped that check again, and it's the first thing Chapter 4 teaches.
